## What it does

Ghosted asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity the questions a customer
would actually type ("where can I buy…", "which is better…", "how much does…")
and records whether a given business is named, and who is named instead.
It then runs eleven technical checks on the site itself and hands over the
files that close each gap.

## What it does not do

Nobody controls what an assistant says, and we do not claim to. We do not post,
submit or email anything on a customer's behalf. We do not charge for checks
that failed on our side: those are excluded from scoring rather than counted as
a miss. We make no guarantee of a ranking or a result.

## Questions and answers

### Can you actually change what ChatGPT says about me?
Not directly, and anyone claiming otherwise is selling you something. What you can change is the evidence available about you: the pages, the markup, the reviews and the directories these models draw on. We show which sources named your competitor, get you into them, then re-check so you watch it move rather than take our word for it.

### What is AI visibility, in plain language?
It is whether an AI assistant names your business when a customer asks it for a recommendation. Someone asks ChatGPT for the best in your line of work nearby, it replies with three or four names, and the customer calls one of them. AI visibility is whether you are on that short list. Unlike search results, there is no page two to be found on.

### Is this just SEO with a new name?
No, but it includes it. The industry calls this work AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization); classic SEO sits underneath both. SEO gets you into Google's index. This gets you into the answer an assistant gives when nobody looks at the index. The mechanics differ: models favour pages that fully answer one question, published prices, structured data, and third-party sources they already trust. ### How long before anything changes?
Structured data and listings usually surface within two to six weeks. New content pages take longer. Review volume is the slowest to build and the strongest signal we measure, so start it first. We re-check weekly so you see movement rather than guess at it.

### Why does my score change between checks?
Because the models themselves are not deterministic: ask the same question twice and you can get two different lists. That is why we show a range instead of a single confident number, sample each question more than once, and never present a small weekly wobble as a trend. Any tool showing you one precise number is hiding this from you.

### Do I need to be technical to use the fixes?

### Which AI assistants do you check?
